May Calendar + The Best of April

It’s almost a new month! And not just any month..MAY! May is just happy. It’s the end of the school year, the start of summer, Mother’s Day, all good things!

APRIL

I have such a bad habit of taking literally dozens of pictures a day and then dumping them once a month or so and never looking at them. Like this one. It was April 1st. I remember taking it because I was amazed that 1) I trusted her to sit still on the counter and 2) her legs hung so far. She has gotten so BIG! This isn’t one I’d hang on the wall or maybe not even one I’d print to put in an album, but it’s one that I don’t want to get lost in all the rest.

I’m hoping to hit the highlights and find a home for some sweet, but forgotten pictures.

We started our month with Easter and it was SUCH a sweet one!

Leading up to Easter we had a fun dinner at Aunt Kayla’s, hunted eggs and made an egg craft:) We also dyed eggs at Lovie’s, but apparently my hands were busy!

Mrs. Marlene came by with the sweetest prizes for all the kids!

We made Resurrection Rolls to explain the death, burial, and resurrection to Landry I was amazed that she showed such understanding! She still randomly says “Jesus tomb, Jesus in Mommy’s heart, Landry’s heart…..” on and on. It’s the sweetest!

Ready for church! So glad we set up a self-timed picture of the four of us because it ended up being the only one of the day!

So so happy to be at church on Easter Sunday. This was the first Sunday back in our church building since the storm and it is beautiful! It was such a special service:)

My sweetheart girl Logan turned three months old!

….and her big sister jumped in the pictures and made for some real cute ones:)

We got RAILROAD FESTIVAL back this year and it was the best!!

I thought Railroad Festival with friends couldn’t be beat..turns out Railroad Festival with kids + friends is even better!

Even Logan had a blast!

She’s got those pink fingernails in everything these days. Before she was born, I prayed her hands would always be busy..doing, helping, creating. With Logan, I told Him to relax! haha

We spent some beautiful days outside! I read something recently about a grandmother’s advice being to “air out your baby”..I love that:)

She insisted on wearing Logan’s dress as a shirt on this day and moments after this picture, she said “I’m precious” (face palm emoji) Thanks Philip!

Also..POTTY TRAINING HAPPENED! In three days! In fact, this is day four at the RRF in panties!! If you’re hoping to start this soon, this is what I followed.. except the not going outside part. We brought her little potty out and had a blast:) Also, Mel followed the Farmer’s Almanac for the “best potty training days” in March (who knew?) and so I looked up April’s dates. May 1-6 is the next “best days” for it, so there’s your push;)

We also had a sweet, and too fast visit from friends in Ohio. I really can barely call it a visit though with 4 kids under 3 running the show ;) but still it was so nice to see them and meet Ramsey!

We have two April babies needing extra love and it has made for the best afternoon entertainment:)

and what a way to end this… a beaver skin, that my baby is perched on. Grump was TOO excited to present these to the kids. One beaver, one otter. He trapped both in his pond and now they have a home inside. Yay;)

That was our April! It was beautiful, our garden is growing, we’re spending tons of time outside and we are counting down until Aunt Kayla is out for the summer!
