Friday Favorites!
Friday is here! The real start to our summer because even though I’m out of school, Aunt Kayla hasn’t been, so it just hasn’t quite started…until now! Her last day is here! Ready for later nights, and long pool days. Or more like splash days chasing the kids to put sunscreen on them. But still:)
Philip was off all week and I feel like we filled every day the best we could with as much as we could!
It started with our first day of The Market at Landry Lane! We finally had enough to fill “the market” for neighbors and friends to stop by. If you want to read more about this little market, I wrote about it here. We had two friends stop by right away. I love when the market is open:)
So many favorites in this one day! After we got the market ready, we headed to a crawfish boil with friends. Landry couldn’t WAIT to get to play with “Tolton and Dant” :)
and lucky for us, Philip’s parents decided to boil the next night so we were spoiled to two boils in one weekend!
We really ate like Kings all week. Between two boils, Memorial Day grilling, Lance’s birthday steaks + street tacos and Olive Garden flat bread and a new spinach dip recipe in a bread boule.. we need to keep this week’s menu for a redo. It was too good!
Two exciting things for the upcoming Farmers Market in town. I posted the shirts available for presale and….
went to the dentist (not a favorite, but it led to one) and they were interested in sponsoring these bags stamped with the market logo for the kids! YAYY! The kids will get these bags and inside will be a pencil and scavenger hunt with the names of all the booths so they can check off each one they visit and “shop” :) They will also have toothbrushes inside them, thanks to Lake Area Dentistry!
The random and ordinary moments like these are always a favorite. This isn’t “frame-worthy”, but it sums up every part of the season we’re in and I love it! I don’t love how much blue fuzz I mopped up from that tutu;)
Same here. It’s just a super sweet time. Heart and iCloud Storage is just MAXED these days:)

Have I said yet how much this chick loves Sunday School? Literally every time I ask her to put on shoes, she thinks we’re going to “chuch” :) This was a special Sunday because it’s the first time since quarantine hit last year that we had “dinner on the grounds” after the service. It was so nice. It was so normal.
Finished up three new logos. Two for flower farms (in Michigan and Virginia) which was so fun. I love graphic design and arranging flowers! The other is for one of the vendors for our Farmers Market who is also a family in our church I’ve always known. She bakes bread and other goods, he does woodworking. Kayla (my sister) came up with their name:)
Philip decided we needed to REALLY cut back our basil. I’m use to making about three recipes at a time. By the time he was done, we had enough for SEVENTEEN recipes. One-Seven. 17. Wanna know my system for keeping up with how many recipes we’d need? ;)
For every three cups of loosely packed basil we trimmed and dumped…I took one tomato out of the jar:) 17. Count ‘em.
We use this recipe! That one in the back there is a half gallon. I was NOT prepared with small jars for such a pesto party…. so I’m priming some and this will do for now.
Oh hey, another favorite there in the background. Who else loves surprise Kroger flowers? All you people with a Trader Joe’s in your zip code, don’t answer that;)
It’s blueberry picking time at Lovie and Grump’s!! How she didn’t spill that entire cup, I’ll never know.
Gosh. My very favorite of all. This picture. That girl. Those curls. That dog! All of it. She loves Tugger so much. He’s her best friend and I love watching her care for him. She is so loving toward him. I love the way she loves him and that she knows how to so well.
Man, I hope all the coming weeks are this full of favorites. I am ready for even more summer fun. I always say my favorite season is the one coming. I love getting excited for everything each new season brings.
